Ceratopian introduced 999 to me years ago and I had played nothing like it before; I’m really glad that it was my first visual novel (sci fi murder mystery puzzle) experience. It’s so much more than a simple game and so well developed. I don’t remember if I had a character I absolutely loved or identified with, as I came to enjoy most of them.
I decided to put Clover on my cosplay list mostly due to her hair; it is a fact that I love big hair. And for some reason I lean towards red heads (her base hair is a wine red). Sure her outfit is cute, but her hair and her bad end definitely swayed me to cosplay her (oh, and maybe fur too…love me some fur). What sprung the making of Clover into active mode was finding the perfect red plaid fabric. Once I found that I prioritized looking for her other fabrics.
The outfit was pretty straight forward, fortunately I had a Japanese styled school girl pattern I used for the shirt and I was already familiar with making that kind of pleated skirt. The plaid red fabric I found had the perfect sized plaid pattern, but it wasn’t bold enough. I used the already existing lines to tape off so I could paint bold green lines. It worked out really nicely.
